Human Resource and Payroll Assistant- Part Time

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Part-time Payroll and HR Assistant to support the day-to-day activities of our growing HR consulting firm. The Payroll and HR Assistant will work directly with the Senior Vice President and assist by creating required HR policies, running payrolls, gathering reports, assisting with internal HR audits and any other HR functions as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and providing client reports.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, employee rosters, records, and documentation.

Maintain new hire onboarding processes and collect necessary paperwork for employee files through electronic signature program.

Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

Provide clerical support to the Senior Vice President

Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers

Conduct internal I-9 File Audits

Ensure active employees are in correct SharePoint folders

Ensure terminated employees are in correct SharePoint folders

Ensure Employee Rosters are up to date for all clients

Setup SUTA and SIT tax accounts for clients as needed

Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, payroll software’s and electronic signature software’s

Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:

Associate degree in related field required

2+ years of prior HR related experience required
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Hearing/Seeing
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Maximum of 20 hours per week to start- possibility of more hours in the future depending on business needs
